Drama Popularity [April]

Will be doing these once a month at the end of the month for the next month

King of Ambition just manages to come out on top in its timeslot after poor initial ratings. Horse Doctor, now at #2 has ended and will be replaced by the Gu Family Book staring Lee SeungGi and Miss A's Suzy, the latter creating negative buzz around the drama.

7th Grade Civil Servant ends with disappointing ratings, falling to 3rd in dramas in that timeslot and rating below the double digits. It will be replaced by When A Man Loves starring Shin Se-Kyung. IRIS 2 sees similarly disappointing ratings only 2% higher than 7th Grade Civil Servant and continued decline. That Winter the Wind Blows gains slightly in ratings and remains #1 but there is only one episode left meaning that the Wednesday & Thursday drama slot could see some major changes. Replacing That Winter the Wind Blows will be All About My Romance starring Lee Min Jung.

The Rascal Sons saw an increase in ratings as it ended with around 10% and will be followed up by I Summon You Gold! starring Han Ji Hye. My Love, Madam Butterfly also saw an increase in ratings to around 13%. These increases may have something to do with You Are the Best Lee Soon Shin seeing ratings 20% lower than My Daughter, Seoyoung which ended with 48% compared to episode 2 of You Are the Best which saw 28%. Whether the drama will continue in the 20s, which is generally poor for this timeslot, or increase in yet unknown.

King's Dream sees a good 3% increase in ratings as it reaches its midway point. Hundred Years Inheritance also sees a slight increase as does Incarnation of Money for increases all around and no change in rank in late night Saturday & Sunday dramas and with all the dramas still having many episodes left, not much is likely to change.

The #1 drama is You Are the Best Lee Soon Shin by about 4% with Hundred Years Inheritance hot on its heels. With Rascal Sons ending with better ratings the worst performing drama is Ad Genius Lee Tae-Baek failing to rank within the top 20 and likely having less than 8% in ratings.

NOTES:
* There is a range in ratings as different rating services have different outcomes and there is a separation between Seoul and Nationwide and therefore ranks as well as rating vary somewhat. Ratings/rankings are for most recent episodes available.
** Most dramas air both days so Monday & Tuesday dramas run 2 episodes per week, one on Monday and one on Tuesday and so forth.
*** Time in brackets are start times of the dramas not airing time, so 8-8:40 pm means the dramas start at times between 8 and 8:40pm not that they run for 40 minutes.
**** no ratings available for Monday - Friday or cable dramas.
